Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Monica McKee. I’m passionate about helping couples, individuals, and first responder families navigate life’s challenges, heal from past wounds, and strengthen their relationships. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, working through trauma, or seeking greater self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.
I’ve been married for 25 years and understand that relationships can bring both joy and struggle. This personal experience, combined with my clinical training, allows me to approach couples work with empathy and practical insight. As the spouse of a first responder, I also have a deep appreciation for the unique stressors first responder families face and am honored to support them in therapy. I speak conversational Spanish and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in helping couples and families reconnect and heal through an attachment-based approach—exploring how early relationships influence the ways we love, trust, and communicate. I'm trained in EMDR, and in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps couples improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and rebuild trust.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2010, and my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2023, with a focus on trauma.
In our work together, we’ll collaborate to identify your goals, uncover patterns that may be holding you back, and develop tools to foster lasting, meaningful change. Supervised by Kristin Ross, LMFT-S.

I am a Clinical Counseling & Mental Health Intern from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center working to complete my requirements to receive my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health. I am under direct supervision of Allison Cornell LPC-S #71371. I have earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University and have a real passion for providing compassionate evidence-based care to children, adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of challenges.
My husband and I have lived in the Flower Mound area for 22 years, where we have raised our three children and built deep roots in the community. After navigating my own health journey and discovering a renewed sense of freedom, I developed a passion for walking alongside others as they pursue healing and transformation. This calling led me back to college and I am now on this exciting path toward nearly completing my master’s degree.
I offer individual counseling to teens and adults suffering from anxiety, bullying, depression, trauma, self-harm, and struggles with parenting. My approach is to partner with you, to collaborate. I will accomplish this by using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). We will work together to identify events and cognitive distortions that can disrupt your life and emotions. It is in identifying these events and how we think of them that healing can begin. Our focus will then move to reinforcing your own strengths and we will build coping skills for healthy emotional processing. Together we will design meaningful goals and provide you with tools you can use outside of our sessions to maintain a balance in emotional regulation.
I also offer marriage and couples counseling. My approach is the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). When two individuals come together with two different levels of emotions and perspectives it is through DBT that I can help each of you identify unwanted behavior and emotions and learn to communicate through talking points to decrease emotional levels during conflict. Through the DBT skills of mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance the level of emotions can be regulated and a new level of hearing and connecting is possible.
I am very aware of the courage it takes to reach out when you are in distress. I consider it a privilege to come alongside you and help you begin your own journey towards a different way of feeling or doing to find you relief in your struggles. I look forward to working together in a true collaboration towards health.

I'm Izabella, and I'm here to support you through life's challenges with wisdom, expertise, and genuine care. As a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate completing my Master's at The King's University (graduating May 2026), I work under direct supervision of Allison Cornell, LPC-S, to provide quality therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families and groups.
My path to therapy wasn't traditional—I spent several years working as an engineer in quality management before pursuing my true calling in mental health. This experience taught me to approach problems systematically and rely on evidence-based solutions, skills I now use to help you navigate complex emotional and relational challenges.
As a wife, mother and professional, I've witnessed firsthand the pressures and transitions our generation experiences. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, or major life changes, I understand the unique context of living and thriving today. Being bilingual in English, Portuguese (and intermediate Spanish) allows me to work with diverse families and appreciate how cultural backgrounds shape our relationships and healing processes.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and designed around your specific needs. Using systemic family therapy and trauma-informed care, we'll work together to identify patterns that may be holding you back, strengthen your relationships, and build practical coping skills you can rely on long after our sessions end. I believe you are the expert on your own life—my role is to provide guidance, tools, and a safe space for growth.
Taking the first step toward therapy requires incredible courage, and I'm deeply honored when someone chooses to trust me with their story. My commitment to you is simple: to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your concerns openly and work toward lasting, meaningful change. Together, we'll find your best path forward.
